THORNWOOD, N.Y. Alexander A. Avella Jr. of Thornwood died Monday, March 26. He was 72.
Avella was born Oct. 13, 1938, in the Bronx. He was married to Marjorie Avella.
He is survived by his sons, Alexander, Jeffrey and Douglas; and six grandchildren. Avella was predeceased by his sister, Jenny Marie Stock.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 29, at Hawthorne Funeral Home. The funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Rosary Church, 170 Bradhurst Ave., Hawthorne. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Ossining or the American Cancer Society.
