Westlake Middle School Stages 'Bugsy Malone Jr.'

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. -- Two casts of Westlake middle schoolers will re-create a 1920s-era rivalry where Capone-ian style “gangs” of children are pitted against one another for control of the streets in the production of "Bugsy Malone Jr."

Shows are Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.

The show will be held in the J.S. Whearty Theater at Westlake High School at 825 West Lake Drive, Thornwood.

Based on the hit 1976 film starring Scott Baio and Jodi Foster, "Bugsy Malone Jr." is squeaky-clean, comedic fun. It features a classic pie fight with silly bubble-spewing “splurge blasters” and a catchy, swinging score by the composer of "The Muppet Movie."

Tickets are available at www.showtix4u.com and at the door.
