“The Summer Concert Series is among the center’s most popular and highly attended events,” says Ed Durkee, executive director, Arts on the Lake. “This year, we’re bringing internationally known performers to Putnam County, including Grammy nominee, Everett Bradley, The Williamsburg Salsa Orchestra, The Old Town Hall Band, and our own Arts on the Lake Jazz Ensemble, led by Tim Ouimette. This is a rare opportunity for the community to get together for an unforgettable evening of music appreciation overlooking beautiful Lake Carmel.”

Every Friday in July from 7 to 9 p.m. Arts on the Lake will feature professional music performances on the north lawn of the Arts Center. Vendor food will be available for purchase, but attendees are welcome to bring snacks, libations and lawn chairs. The concerts are pay-what-you-wish, and the talent line-up includes:

  • The Old Town Hall Band - Bluegrass and Acoustic Swing: Friday, July 8, at 7 p.m.
    • The band covers a lot of musical ground and has played with Peter Yarrow, Livingston Taylor, Jonathan Edwards, Vaneese Thomas and many others.
  • Arts on the Lake Jazz Ensemble: Friday, July 15, at 7 p.m.
    • Led by arranger, composer and trumpeter, Tim Ouimette, the Ensemble consists of jazz musicians who have played with: Ray Charles, Count Basie, and Iggy Pop.
  • Williamsburg Salsa Orchestra: Friday, July 22, at 7 p.m.
    • The Williamsburg Salsa Orchestra is an 11-piece band, which forgoes the standard repertoire of vintage salsa, instead playing arrangements of indie rock tunes, featuring Arcade Fire, Spoon, LCD Soundsystem and some of the best young players on the scene.

    • Grammy nominated, Everett Bradley, plays percussion and sings backup vocals with Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, and is the Musical Director for the “Meredith Vieira Show.” He has garnered six Tony Award nominations, directed and performed “STOMP,” and toured with Bon Jovi and Hall and Oates.
