Drug, Gambling Bust At Deli Yields $124K In Cash, Fentanyl, Cocaine In Westchester: Police

Two men were arrested and more than $124,000 in cash, illegal drugs, and gambling machines were seized during a major drug and gambling raid at a deli in Westchester, police announced.

The bust took place on Friday, May 30, when New Rochelle Police detectives executed simultaneous search warrants at Jr's Deli Mart located at 570 North Ave. and a related residence on Mt. Joy Place, the department announced on Monday, June 2.   

As a result of the investigation, officers found more than $124,000 in cash, three Joker Poker gambling machines, two ounces of fentanyl, and 19.5 grams of powdered cocaine, police said.

Two suspects, identified as Angel Bravo-Sanchez, 44, of New Rochelle, and Alexie Medina, 58, of the Bronx, were arrested in connection with the investigation, according to the department. 

Both men were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, while Bravo-Sanchez was also charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance, the department added. 

The arrests mark the conclusion of what police described as a “significant drug and gambling investigation.”
