Rivera, a Westchester resident that already owns a dealership in Northern Westchester, is reportedly planning on opening a new location on Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station on Long Island.

Rivera, Major League Baseball’s first unanimous Hall of Famer and all-time saves leader, and his business partners are looking to purchase the current North Shore Certified car dealership on Route 112, which would be renamed “Mariano Rivera Honda” if approved.

The location currently sits at 6,425-square-feet on an 8.1-acre site. If Rivera’s proposal is accepted, they are expected to expand to a new 50,000-square-foot facility that would reportedly house more than 350 vehicles for sale.

Rivera opened Rivera Toyota and Scion on Bedford Road in Mount Kisco in July 2015. Moving forward, if Rivera is to open up his new dealership in Suffolk County, he will have to gain the approval of the Town of Brookhaven and the Hall of Famer is expected to be involved in the pitches to help sell local lawmakers on the project.

After closing out a record-setting 652 games for the Yankees, Rivera will attempt to close out one more deal.
