MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Feeling cooped up due to the latest snowstorm?

A few lucky village residents were pleased to find the Mamaroneck Public Library at 136 Prospect Ave. was open from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. today before succumbing to new ice and frigid temperature warnings.

Mamaroneck vlllage offices also were open Monday, but garbage collection was postponed as was the Monday night work session and public meeting of the village Board of Trustees.

Due to the icy and unsafe conditions, garbage collection has been postponed for Monday and Thursday routes until Thursday.

Due to the inclement weather and poor road conditions and the expectation for severe cold tonight with temperatures dropping to 10 degrees, the village board meetings Monday – both the work session and rescheduled public meeting -- are canceled.

The village announced Monday that there will be a special meeting Tuesday Feb. 3 at 5:30 p.m. in the conference room at the Regatta, 123 Mamaroneck Ave., to handle accounts payable. Village Trustee Ilissa Miller planned to attend that meeting via video conference.

The work session and village board meeting are expected to take place on Monday Feb. 9 with the work session at 5:30 p.m. in the courtroom and continuing through to the board meeting with items postponed from the Jan. 26 meeting starting at 7:30 p.m. "Unless, of course, we get another snowstorm,'' village officials wrote in an email announcement. "Everyone be safe and enjoy the day."
