The Dashboard will provide information aligned with the Board of Education’s goals and serve as an important resource to guide ongoing decision making associated with teaching, learning and goal setting.
“The Data Dashboard offers valuable information about student performance over time and indicators of success specific to student engagement. And, in keeping with the Board’s emphasis on closing the achievement gap, the Dashboard will serve as a key tool in monitoring and gauging student performance to help ensure the success of all students,” said Superintendent of Schools Robert Shaps.
Shaps worked closely with Director of Research, Assessment & Accountability Michael Kollmer and the Board of Education to develop the tool internally.
The content is presented in a simple, compact manner using short and long-term data elements to illustrate trends and overall direction within the data.
In addition to detailed information on how students fare on state tests, regents, AP exams and SATs/ACTs, the Data Dashboard offers a detailed account of elementary reading benchmarks, extracurricular clubs and sports teams and college/career readiness indicators.
The Mamaroneck High School graduation rate is broken down by demographics. It also includes current and past enrollment numbers by state-designated sub-groups and a quick at-a-glance look at enrollment changes over the years.
The Data Dashboard will be updated annually to reflect new results and “indicators of success” identified by the Board of Education and Administration.
