Man Charged With Assaulting Danbury Officer

DANBURY, Conn. -- Danbury police arrested a Brookfield man Friday after he was accused of trying to choke an officer who had responded to a report of a drunk man lying in a roadway, according to a report in newstimes.com.

Gary R. Breeden, 26, is facing two counts of assault on a police officer, driving under the influence and second-degree strangulation, newstimes.com reported. 

Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Riverview Drive, where they found a man passed out in the street. Police said the man attacked the female officer at the scene, but a male officer helped her, according to newstimes.com.
