A late-night traffic stop over the weekend led to the arrest of a man from Westchester who was allegedly driving with a blood alcohol content more than double the legal limit, police said.
New York State Police troopers stopped Port Chester resident Juan Cervantes, 26, on I-287 in Harrison when he committed vehicle and traffic violations. During the subsequent stop, it was determined that Cervantes was allegedly impaired by alcohol and he was arrested.
Police said that Cervantes was taken into custody and processed at State Police headquarters in Tarrytown, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be .18 percent. Cervantes was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor and cited for multiple vehicle and traffic law violations.
Cervantes was released to a sober party and issued a ticket to appear in the Town of Harrison Court on Tuesday, March 26 to answer the charges.
