Michael Girolamo, 72, Former Mamaroneck Marine

MAMARONECK, N.Y. – Michael A. Girolamo, a former longtime Mamaroneck resident, died Sept. 16 at his home in New Rochelle. He was 72. 

Born Dec. 29, 1939, he was the son of James and Mary Camarella Girolamo. He served in the Marines during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was the owner of Scarsdale Texaco for more 25 years. He then worked as a real estate broker with C.S. Realty in Harrison. 

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Kreiser Girolamo; four children, Michele (Tom) Greco and Michael (Astrid) Girolamo, of Floral Park, N.Y., and Joseph and Kelly Girolamo, of New Rochelle; nine siblings, Rose, James, Betty, Joan, Carl, Carol, Gina, Maria and Cathy and four grandchildren. 

Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Coxe and Graziano Funeral Home in Mamaroneck. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sts. John and Paul Church in Larchmont. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ursuline School Family Emergency Fund, 1354 North Avenue, New Rochelle, NY 10804.
