LARCHMONT, N.Y. - Kenneth J. Nixon of Larchmont died April 5. He was 76.
Nixon was born Nov. 18, 1936, to Margaret and Kenneth J. Nixon in New Rochelle. He graduated from Iona Preparatory School in 1954 and received a BA in history from Holy Cross College in 1958. He graduated from New York University School of Law where he was a Root Tilden scholar. He served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1962.
Nixon worked at Merrill Lynch for more than 25 years, retiring in 2005 as a vice president and senior tax counsel. From 2002 to 2005 he was chairman of the Equity Commitment Committee.
Nixon was a member of Sts. John and Paul Church in Larchmont for over 50 years, and was a lifelong member of the Larchmont Shore Club where he served on the board for many years.
Nixon is survived by his wife, Sheila; son, Kenneth J. Nixon III (Katherine); three grandchildren; his twin brother Robert B. Nixon. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Ann Nixon Shea.
Calling hours are Monday April 8 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fox Funeral Home in Larchmont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated April 9 at 10 a.m. at Sts. John and Paul Church in Larchmont followed by internment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Iona Preparatory School, New Rochelle, in memory of Ken Nixon class of 1954.
