- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers told local officials they will decide by mid-2014 what type of flood mitigation project to pursue in the Village of Mamaroneck. The village suffers damaging floods due to the confluence of the Mamaroneck and Sheldrake rivers at Columbus Park.
- A Mamaroneck High School club is raising money to support a research lab that is moving into phase two in its efforts to find a cure for Type 1 diabetes. Michael Mancino, 17, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when he was eight. He has helped organized a gala benefit June 24 at Palmer Crossing in Larchmont.
- An acapella group that was the house band for the PBS show “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego” returned to the the Emelin Theater Saturday. Rockapella played Motown favorites Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder and The Temptations with the acapella band's signature sound.
