Mamaroneck Man Punches Police Officer

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- A village man, 23, punched a police officer while being placed under arrest for causing a disturbance on Ward Avenue Dec. 26 at 9:40 p.m. Police charged him with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and second-degree assault. The police officer refused medical attention.The following incidents were also reported in the Village of Mamaroneck Police blotter from Dec. 26 to Dec. 31.Larceny: An unknown suspect broke into a parked, unoccupied car on Wood Street sometime between Dec. 24 at 5 p.m. and Dec. 25 at 9 a.m. and removed a GPS unit worth $100.Accident Pedestrian: A village man, 21, was hit by a car when crossing the street on Mamaroneck Avenue Dec. 26 at 8:40 a.m. No injuries were reported.Larceny: A village resident reported someone stole silver steak knives worth $1,000 without permission from their Union Avenue home some time between September and Dec. 2, 2011. Criminal Mischief: A homeless woman, 55, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief for causing $500 in damage to a door at a Halstead location.
