Game Show Creator, Mamaroneck's Adamo Dies at 80

MAMARONECK, N.Y. – Louise M. Adamo, of Mamaroneck and a longtime resident of Los Angeles, Calif., died March 31 at the age of 80. 

The daughter of the late Paul and Loretta (Prietta) Adamo, she was born June 27, 1931 in Port Chester. Adamo enjoyed a long career in the entertainment industry, first working for Broadcast Music Incorporated and then for many years for Merv Griffin. 

Adamo was the creator and head writer for “Let's Play Post Office,” an NBC game show executive produced by Merv Griffin. Adamo then became road manager for actress and singer Diahann Carroll and worked with her for over 30 years. 

She is survived by her brothers Frank (Susan) Adamo, Paul Adamo and Robert Adamo, a niece and a nephew. 

Friends may call on from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday at Coxe and Graziano Funeral Home in Mamaroneck. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Most Holy Trinity Church in Mamaroneck. Interment will follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye.
