MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- A comedy show, and kids music and dance session, and a book signing are just some of the events this weekend in Mamaroneck and Larchmont.
Friday, March 22
Steve Solomon Comedy Show at the Emelin Theatre: 8 p.m. Steve Solomon’s two-time award-winning show has met with rave reviews and audience acclaim throughout the country, becoming one of the longest-running one-man shows in Broadway history. Once again, we meet the people that we’re all too familiar with: the family members that make you remember why you left home in the first place. It’s a laugh-filled fest of everybody you know, have known, and some you’d want to forget but can’t. Tickets are $33 in advance, $37 day of show, and $15 for students. The Emelin Theatre is located at 153 Library Lane.
Saturday, March 23
Family Jam at Groove Performing Arts: 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Groove's JAMS are a foot-stomping, hand-clapping, egg-shaking, rock-and-rolling good time for kids 6 months to 5 years old and their parents, too. The music is live, the songs are original, and the groove is a given. The whole family is welcome. Groove Performing Arts is located at 108 Chatsworth Avenue in Larchmont.
Sunday, March 24
Pamela Sargent at the Mamaroneck Public Library: 2 p.m. Pamela Sargent will be reading and discussing her recent books. Sargent is the author of many highly praised novels for teens and adults, including Earthseed, an ALA Best Book for Young Adults. She has won the Nebula Award and the Locus Award, has been a finalist for the Hugo Award and the Theodore Sturgeon Memorial Award and is the winner of the Pilgrim Award for lifetime contributions to Science Fiction/Fantasy Studies. She is also the author of Ruler of the Sky, her 1993 historical novel about Genghis Khan. Books will be available for purchase.
