MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- The Mamaroneck Public Library is inviting supporters to come play mini-golf and enjoy local food.
The fund-raiser is being organized by the Friends of the Mamaroneck Library and is scheduled for July 28 from 1-4 p.m.
Children ages 4 and up, family and friends will be able to play putt-putt golf in the library, compete for prizes, and enjoy a mini food-tasting from local restaurants, including Cafe Mozart.
Prizes will be awarded for the lowest overall score in the under 12 age group, and the over 12 age group.
The cost is $25 for individual players, $40 for a two-person team, and $15 for the mini-tasting only.
All proceeds will go to Friends of the Mamaroneck Public Library, which seeks to, "focus community awareness on the needs of the library and create public support; encourage and solicit gifts, endowments and memorials to the library; materially support and enhance the library's services."
Lee Stringer, president of the organization, said that the fundraiser is part of the Friends new approach to fundraising, and that they hope to make the tournament and tasting two separate events in the future.
Registration forms can be downloaded online or picked up at the main circulation desk. They are due, with checks, at the library by 1 p.m. on July 28.
RSVPs are recommended but not required via email at friendsofmamaronecklibrary@gmail.com.
The library is at 136 Prospect Ave.
