Larchmont Summit Will Discuss Future Of Affordable Housing

LARCHMONT, N.Y. -- The Larchmont-Mamaroneck Local Summit invites residents to join a discussion about affordable housing, featuring Westchester County Legislator Catherine Parker and Rose Noonan, executive director of the Housing Action Council, from 7:45 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at the Nautilus Diner.

Nautilua Diner is at 1240 W. Boston Post Road in Mamaroneck. 

Topics will include:

  • A history of affordable housing in our area and how we define “affordable.”
  • Current projects: the 51-unit Pinebrook Condominium now under construction on Palmer Avenue in Larchmont, of which five units will be designated as “workforce housing apartments.”
  • Where do we go from here? What is the status of Westchester County's 2009 settlement with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, which called for 750 new units of affordable housing.
