MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club (MBYC) is sponsoring a fund-raiser called "Gabi Rocks Neuroblastoma" in honor of Gabi Olivo, a Throggs Neck 3-year old currently battling Stage 4 neuroblastoma, an aggressive form of childhood cancer.
Gabi’s Gold Fund, a non-profit organization, is hosting the children's concert and auction to benefit Gabi and others suffering from the disease. It takes place on Nov. 17 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. The club is at 555 South Barry Ave., Mamaroneck.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
“We are so pleased that Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club has graciously donated their beautiful venue and services in support of finding a cure for neuroblastoma,” said Jamie Flesher, Gabi’s Gold chief financial officer. “Gabi is a strength and inspiration to us all and we are committed to finding a cure for her and all the children battling this horrific disease.”
The event will feature musical performances by the acclaimed L.I. Aardvarks’ Lisa Ammon and Friends and Zev Haber & Pretzelstein. There will also be children’s games and activities, a silent auction, raffle and a consumption bar featuring a “Gabitini”.
Groove Performing Arts in Larchmont has created a line of handmade “Super Bright Rainbow Streamers” to benefit Gabi’s Gold Fund. These will be on sale at the event.
