Well, almost. At the club — which is reopening Wednesday in a new, larger location at 230 Post Road E. — students get to work inside a large boxing ring with former Olympic boxer Rich Dean.
“We expanded to accommodate a lot of different programs that we can now offer, including small group and one-on-one boxing sessions as well as classes in TRX and kettlebell,” said Dean, a USA boxing coach.
Dean's business was formerly located at 10 Bay St. in Westport.
Dean also works with patients in a Parkinson’s Disease Boxing Fitness Program that he designed to help reduce symptoms of this disease. "We work on flexibility, posture, balance and reflexes,” he said.
The studio also holds self-defense seminars with Westport police officers. The next seminar will be March 25 from noon.
Dean, a Trumbull resident, is a three-time Golden Gloves Champ and a two-time Gold Medalist.
