"It's going to be great to be back in Mamaroneck," Rosenberg said of the relaunch with the new shop located at  407 Mamaroneck Ave., in the old Payless store.

But this time, in addition to Ralphs, the business will also include a SoBol shop on one side that will officer acai bowls, smoothies, Belgian waffles and more. While Ralph's will offer the traditional yummies they are known for such as 120 types of frozen ices, 20 flavors of ice cream, and all kinds of cakes and good things to stuff in your mouth.

Rosenberg, who also owns Ralph's in North White Plains and Yonkers, is hoping the second time around will run a lot smoother than the first when he was located at  946 E. Boston Post Road and left suing the village after they forced his closure in 2017.

"So far things have been good with the village," Rosenberg said. "I never really wanted to leave, so I'm just glad to be back."

The "fight" with the village began just shortly after Ralph's Italian Ice opened its doors in May 2016 when the village Zoning Board of Appeals decided they had provided him with the wrong kind of permit; a retail instead of food permit. Then the neighbors started complaining about the noise and traffic.

The board of appeals decided to revoke his license and told him he would have to close.

That's when things got ugly with protestors lining the streets and lawsuits flying. In the end, Ralph's closed. But Rosenberg always said he would be back, and he is.

"We have tons of parking with street parking and a parking lot in the back," he said. "I don't anticipate any problems."

He's also planning a "large" grand opening celebration sometime in mid-March to let everyone know he's back in the village.

"This is a big deal," he said.
