25-Year-Old Registered Nurse From Westchester Dies: 'Smile, Laughter Will Live On'

A 25-year-old registered nurse and cancer survivor from Westchester is being remembered by her friends and family for her laugh and smile.

Yonkers resident Eileen Deighan died on Tuesday, May 2 at the age of 25, according to her obituary. 

After winning a fight against cancer, Deighan celebrated many accomplishments including becoming a pediatric registered nurse at Montefiore Hospital and a champion Irish dancer. 

She had also joined a Gaelic football team, her obituary said. 

Her loved ones will always remember her for her smile and laughter, which will "live on in all of them," according to her obituary. 

Deighan is survived by her parents, Bill and Eileen; her cousins, Michael, Danny, Billy, James, Chrissy, and Liev; her goddaughter, Molly; and many more family members. 

Calling hours for Deighan will be held on Friday, May 5 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Bronxville at 20 Cedar St. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will then be held on Saturday, May 6 at 9:15 a.m. at the Annunciation-Fatima Parish in Yonkers at 475 Westchester Ave. Her interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Yonkers.
