The three men, James Wadsworth Sr., 49, and James Wadsworth Jr., 30, both of Ansonia, along with 32-year-old Saul Salazar, of Shelton, were arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 21 in connection with the theft of rare, collectible comic books, said Shelton Police Det. Richard Bango.

The arrests stem from a complaint the Shelton Police Department received in July 2019,  where more the 500 rare comic books were stolen from a storage unit in Shelton, Bango said.

Shelton detectives investigated the case and discovered a small portion of the books were allegedly sold to a comic book store in New Haven by the three men, he added.

Following the investigation, the remainder of the books were recovered.

The three were charged with larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny. Each is being held on a $50,000 bond.
