VISTA, N.Y. The Vista Fire Department responded to four calls last week ranging from a investigating a smoky condition to ambulance requests. The fire log from Oct. 3 to Oct. 9 follows:
Oct. 6
At 5 p.m., the department received a request for an ambulance on Oakridge Drive. The patient was transported to Norwalk Hospital.
At 6:14 p.m., the department received a report of an inside smoke condition at a residence on Tribrook Drive. When firefighters arrived, they discovered that the damper to the fireplace was not opened prior to starting a fire. Windows were opened to ventilate the residence.
Oct. 9
The department received a request for an ambulance at a park on Elmwood Road at 10 a.m. The patient was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital with a Westchester paramedic on board.
The department received a request for an ambulance at a residence on Old Orchard Road 8:46 p.m. The patient was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital.
