Northern Westchester Man, 21, Indicted On Murder Charge For Fatal Shooting

A 21-year-old Northern Westchester man has been indicted on murder charges for a fatal shooting earlier this year.

Peekskill resident Michael Jenkins has been indicted for allegedly fatally shooting and robbing Mohegan Lake resident Emmanuel Jordan in May, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. announced on Wednesday, Aug. 12.

Specifically, Jenkins was charged with:

  • Two counts of second-degree murder;
  • Two counts of criminal possession of a weapon;
  • Two counts of robbery;
  • Criminal possession of a weapon.

Early on Saturday, May 9, officers from the Peekskill Police Department responded to a call of an unresponsive man in a car on Paulding Street. Upon arrival, they found Jordan, 27, with multiple gunshot wounds inside the car.

The investigation into the fatal shooting led police to identify Jenkins as a suspect.

Prosecutors allege that Jenkins met Jordan the night before he was found on Paulding Street, robbed him, and murdered him. He was arrested within 24 hours of the alleged shooting.

Bail was set at $500,000 cash/bond or $5 million partially secured bond (10 percent). Jenkins’ next court date is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 4.
