Lewisboro Police Investigate Theft of Handguns

LEWISBORO, N.Y. – Lewisboro and state police are investigating a burglary in which four handguns reportedly were stolen last week from a residence on East Street in South Salem.

Police were called to the home May 14, where the owner told them she had been staying with her son in Stamford, Conn. since May 5. When she returned home, she noticed the striker plate to the door off the living room was on the floor and the door itself was damaged. She then discovered the four handguns were missing from the master bedroom nightstand.

The missing handguns included a 9mm, a .22 caliber, and two .32 calibers. Also missing from the kitchen table was a bottle of oxycodone painkillers that contained approximately 60 pills.
