Police responded to the report of an accident on Route 35, west of Mark Mead Road in Cross River. A car had collided with a deer. The Wolf Center was called to pick up the deer.
Police were called to Yellow Monkey Antiques at 792 Route 35 in Cross River for a dumping complaint. A search of three black bags with garbage revealed the possible owner to be an Ellen Ehrlich from North Salem Road. Police responded to the residence and Mrs. Ehrlich admitted she left the bags. She was advised to remove garbage. She was issued a warning and advised to purchase garbage pick-up. The complainant was advised of the findings and the garbage was removed from the Dumpster.
Lewisboro Police were requested by the New York State Police to assist with a child protective case on East Street in South Salem. They assisted with an interview at the residence.
Police received a call from an unknown person who reported that razor blades were spread throughout the intersection of Old Post Road and Smithridge Road. Police removed approximately 30 razor blades from the intersection, which appeared to have fallen off a truck making the turn onto Smithridge Road.
Police received a report from a complainant who observed a white male, about 25, running across the parking lot of the Cross River Plaza. The white male got into a vehicle with another person and drove away. The complainant followed the vehicle to Route 35 and Route 684 where the complainant noticed the license plate of the suspect vehicle was covered with a cloth. However, the complainant was able to read the front plate. The complaint was passed to State Police who reported no incidents at the Cross River Plaza and said they would check with cars registrant to see if the license plate was still covered.
Police were dispatched to Boutonville Road and Spring Street for a report of a tree on wires. Upon arrival the officer noticed a tree burning in the wires across from 5 Boutonville Road. The fire department was notified and closed the road until NYSEG arrived.
