Vista Soldier Forges Friendship With Puppy In Afghanistan

LEWISBORO, N.Y. – Vista’s Michael Pasquale, a 2002 graduate of John Jay High School and now a captain in the U.S. Army, made an unusual friend while stationed in Afghanistan, according to a report in the Lewisboro Ledger.

It was a 4-month-old stray puppy who sought Pasquale out at the gates of the army post and began to follow him around. Whenever Pasquale left the base for field trips, the pup was there to greet him when he returned.

Pasquale eventually contacted the American rescue group, The Puppy Rescue Mission, and arranged for the dog to come stateside.
