The ceremony recognized Matt Salton, Matthew Galea and Dunlin Stathis for their hard work and time commitment in earning the rank of Eagle Scout. Salton and Stathis are both seniors at John Jay Senior High School and Galea is a senior at Fordham Prep.

All three started their Scouting journey as active members of Goldens Bridge Cub Scout Pack 154 and continued with Troop 154.

Becoming an Eagle Scout requires an enormous amount of time and hard work, from earning 21 merit badges to planning and executing a local service project.

Salton’s Eagle project was to enhance the beach at Lake Katonah with new benches and a life guard stand.

Galea led a team to build a kiosk and picnic table, and to landscape a new picnic area and surrounding area, including the removal of invasive plants and the planting of new, indigenous plants at the Bedford Audubon Society.

Stathis' project was to build a protected vegetable garden for the Country Children’s Center at their white house location in Katonah.
