Located in Mount Kisco, Ethiopian eatery Lalibela, which is also the name of a town in the Amhara region of northern Ethiopia, has a host of traditional dishes, including a hearty Siga Wat which is beef, lamb or chicken slowly cooked with onion, ginger, garlic, berbere chili sauce, and seasoned butter.

A non-spicy version of the same stew with turmeric replacing the chili sauce, according to Lalibela's menu.

Among vegan/vegetarian dishes are Misir Wat made with split lentils instead of the meat or poultry.

A vegan entree is cabbage cooked with potatoes, onions, garlic, turmeric, and olive oil.

The dishes can be paired with red and white wines, with cabernets, Sauvignon Blanc and Ethiopian Honey Wine on a list.

Lalibela offers breakfast fare, from "Genfo" which is wheat porridge with a dash of cardamom, served with Ethiopian spiced butter and berbere chili pepper seasonings or "Engualal Fir-Fir" of scrambled eggs prepared with the same spiced butter and sliced jalapeños.

The lunch menu includes Kategna with Ayib which is rolled strips of injera coated with berbere sauce mixed in Ethiopian spiced butter or olive oil served with fresh Ethiopian cottage-cheese.

A review posted by a "Local Guide" on Google said of the eatery, "What's NOT to love?! Gracious hostess, wonderful family-style or individual options. A small, but appropriate wines by the glass list. A terrific social and food experience

The restaurant is at 37 S. Moger Ave., Mount Kisco.
