Directed by Zoya Kachadurian, "Little Creek" takes the stage at 8 p.m. on Oct. 14 and Oct. 15. Written by local playwright and former director Gayle Hudson, of Waccabuc, the play is loosely based on on a real person she met as a child growing up in Delaware.

Six other characters in the play are imaginary, Hudson said, and the story is a hopeful one of family life. The play includes mature subject matter.

"Although the play is set in the 1950’s, here we are, still dealing with these issues today," said Hudson, who is the former director at the Northern Westchester Center for the Arts in Golden's Bridge and Mount Kisco. "Little Creek seems to touch a current, contemporary chord in people who have seen and read it."

Hudson said three of the characters are young people, played by young actors.  "I’m drawn to childhood and early adolescence, and I so enjoy bringing these multi-dimensional young characters to life," she said.
