Carnival And Parade To Honor South Salem Fire Dept. Anniversary

SOUTH SALEM, N.Y. -- The 75th Anniversary South Salem Fire Department Annual Carnival and Fireman's Parade is set for this week.

The event will be at The South Salem Fire House, 1190 Route 35. A $25 wristband is available for unlimited rides or individual tickets for rides can be purchased.

The schedule is: Tuesday, 6-10 p.m.

Wednesday, 6-10 p.m. with the parade starting at 7 p.m.

Thursday, 6-10 p.m.

Friday, 6-11 p.m.

Saturday, 5-10 p.m.

On Thursday and Friday nights, there will be live music by local bands, such as Blues Corruption and by Chip Andrus and his band.

The event features more than a dozen rides for all ages, traditional carnival games and food tents with hot dogs, hamburgers, sausage and peppers, chicken nuggets, french fries, corn on the cob, funnel cakes and deep fried Oreos. There also will be special 75th anniversary T-shirts for sale.
