
Kara Whelan
Community AdvisorKara H. Whelan, a Chappaqua native, resides in South Salem with her family. Her children are active in local sports and arts programs and Kara serves as a volunteer with the Katonah-Lewisboro School District. She is the Vice President at Westchester Land Trust, a conservation organization that has protected close to 8,000 acres of woodlands, farmlands, meadows, and shorelines in Westchester and eastern Putnam. Kara serves as co-coordinator of the Hudson to Housatonic Regional Conservation Partnership (H2H RCP) which unites more than 36 local and regional conservation organizations in cross-boundary land protection and stewardship. Kara enjoys learning about Lewisboro's rich natural and cultural history by exploring new running routes along South Salem's scenic roads.
