The property located at 677 Washington Boulevard will soon be home to the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc.), the City of Stamford announced in a Thursday, March 21 press release.

The WWE will be leaving its current headquarters of more than 30 years, Titan Towers, at 1241 East Main Street. The WWE will also be exiting their leased spaces on 1266 East Main Street

The new 415,000 square foot property is currently managed by George Comfort & Sons, which agreed to a 16-year lease.

The building was one of the numerous buildings in the Stamford area that were originally constructed to meet the growing needs of financial service companies. As a result, it retains gig-speed fiber optic internet infrastructure to serve the needs of modern companies that rely on its use.

The WWE’s expansion into providing video content online will enable the company to use the high-speed internet infrastructure to maximize efficiency in the new headquarters.

The move will begin after July 1, 2019 and should be completed by early 2021.

“One of the most important elements necessary to execute WWE’s long-term growth strategy is world-class talent collaborating seamlessly to create compelling content," ” said George Barrios, WWE Co-President. "Our workplace initiative will be the foundation to meet these objectives and underpins our ability to deliver long-term value."

“Stamford has tremendous broadband capabilities, and I’m glad a company that’s been in our city for so long has chosen to continue investing in our community,” said Mayor David Martin. “We’ve worked with the WWE for many decades, and they’ve been here long enough to know their investment in our city pays itself back. I’m glad we can continue building relationships with businesses who believe in Stamford’s future.”
