Rein's Deli, located at 435 Hartford Turnpike (Route 30), announced that it will close starting on Sunday, Feb. 5 at 3 p.m. for the renovations, according to a social media post.

The closure will last for a little more than a week, with the eatery set to reopen on Monday, Feb. 13 at noon.

The renovations will include the installation of new equipment in addition to epoxy floors for the kitchen and takeout areas.

Opened in 1972 by Bob Rein, the restaurant is a classic New York Style Jewish deli brought to New England and serves a host of classic sandwiches, including their iconic corn beef and pastrami on rye.

Visitors can also choose from a wide offering of Reubens, grill items, salads, and more. There's even a breakfast menu for those who show up early.

The restaurant was selected by "Eat This, Not That" as the number one deli in the state in 2022.

Many local Yelp reviewers could not get enough of the restaurant's offerings.

"We often get some frozen corned beef hash to cook up later! Nothing ever disappoints! We definitely return to Rein's again and again," said Allie K. of Middletown in a Yelp review.

Lisa F. of Hartford also echoed the sentiment in her review, saying, "This deli is exactly what you hope for when you want a great sandwich. I had the Rachael, hubs had the corned beef Reuben-- go for the overstuffed, you won't be disappointed!"

The restaurant says visitors can check its website for updates during the closure.
