PURCHASE, N.Y. Purchase tennis players Gabriella Marden and Moriah Ormsby were both named to the first team and teammate and Melissa Siller earned second-team recognition Tuesday when the Skyline Conference named its All-Skyline teams.
This is an exciting time for the program and for these three players, said Panther head coach Patricia Troiano. Congratulations go out to Gabby, Moriah and Melissa. We are excited to return three All-Skyline selections next fall.
Marden, a transfer, slotted right into the No. 1 slot and helped the Panthers clinch a postseason berth this fall. She went 7-5 overall at No. 1 and teamed with Ormsby for a dynamic 1-2 punch at No. 1 doubles. The due went 3-2 in conference. Marden was named Skyline Player of the Week and also added two Honor Roll mentions during the fall.
Ormsby went 8-5 overall at No. 2 singles. The standout sophomore backed up her All-Skyline freshman campaign with another terrific season on the courts.
Siller, a freshman, went 10-2, including an impressive 4-1 at No. 3 singles. She also teamed for a 9-4 overall doubles mark at No. 2 doubles, helping the Panthers clinch a tough Final Four postseason berth. Although sometimes overshadowed by Marden and Ormsby, Siller also garnered an HR mention during the season, finishing her rookie campaign on a high note.
