HARRISON, N.Y. -- Harrison High School fall sports teams competed in sectional play last weekend.
The boys varsity soccer team, seeded 22nd, lost to No. 11 seed Sleepy Hollow 2-0 preventing its advance in the Section 1 tournament.
The girls varsity soccer team, seeded 21st beat No. 12 seed Nanuet 2-0 with goals by junior Erica LaManna and freshman Erin Nelson. Sophomore Gia Mancini had 13 saves. The Huskies were unable to advance to the quarterfinals, losing 3-1 to No. 5 seed Walter Panas.
The field hockey team and the volleyball team experienced season-ending losses in their first-round sectional matches.
The 83rd Harrison-Rye football game was a defensive battle. The Huskies held the Rye Garnets scoreless through the first three quarters but ultimately were defeated by a score of 8-2 in the final minutes.
