PURCHASE, N.Y. -- Forty students from the Introduction to Environmental Science class at Purchase College recently participated in the International Coastal Cleanup at the Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary in Rye.

The students recovered more than 200 pounds of trash from the beach.

The environmental studies bachelor of arts program at Purchase College reflects an interdisciplinary focus on the interactions among the sociopolitical, economic and ecological systems where the natural world and human society overlap.
