Westchester County Police officers attempted to pull over the driver of a possibly stolen Dodge Charger on the Hutchinson River Parkway in Harrison at approximately 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

Police reportedly lost sight of the Charger around the area of St. Vincent’s Hospital before it struck a car near the Harrison Avenue Elementary School.

The vehicle was located on Wendover Road, unoccupied, a Westchester County Police spokesman said. A Harrison Police Department canine tracked the suspect on Park Drive South, and he was turned over to the Westchester County Police without further incident.

According to the spokesman, the Connecticut plates on the Charger were stolen from another vehicle, and an investigation is underway into whether the Charger is a stolen vehicle or just had stolen plates on it. Investigators have yet to speak with the registered owner of the Charger.

Information regarding the suspect’s identity or possible charges are not yet available. Charges are pending the completion of the investigation.
