LARCHMONT, N.Y. Corinne E. Enders, a former Larchmont resident, died June 20 at Greenwich Woods Health Care Center in Greenwich, Conn. She was 83.
A retired reading and learning disabilities specialist, she was a former director of the Hallen Center in Harrison.
A native of Philadelphia, she was born Oct. 16, 1928. Enders was a graduate of Germantown High School and Pennsylvania State University. While raising four children, one diagnosed with a learning disability, she continued her education at the College of New Rochelle and earned a master's degree in reading.
Enders operated a private tutoring practice out of her home in Larchmont and taught briefly at SUNY Purchase. She then became director of the Hallen Center, a school for children with learning disabilities. Enders became a resident of Greenwich Woods in October 2008.
She is survived by three daughters, Jody (Eric D'Hoker) Enders, Emily Enders (John) Odom and Georgiana Enders; a son, Eric (Sandi) Enders; and two grandchildren.
There will be a brief committal service prior to cremation at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home in Stamford, Conn. A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
