HARRISON, N.Y. – The annual Memorial Day parade and a Harrison Board of Education meeting highlight this week’s events in Harrison. 

Monday, May 28

Schools Closed: All six schools in the Harrison Central School District will be closed in for observance of Memorial Day.

Memorial Day Parade: 10 a.m. The town’s annual Memorial Day parade will march down Halstead Avenue into Ma Riis Park to honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice to their country, Harrison 

Tuesday, May 29

Computer Orientation Class: 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The Harrison Public Library is holding a computer class that will teach the basics of using the library catalogue and the Internet, 2 Bruce Ave., Harrison.

National Honor Society Induction Ceremony: 7 p.m. High school students who have qualified will be inducted into the National Honor Society at Harrison High School, 255 Union Ave., Harrison.

Manhattanville College Summer Classes: Classes begin for Manhattanville College students for the first summer session, 2900 Purchase St., Purchase. 

Wednesday, May 30

Field Day: Parsons Memorial School will hold its annual field day where students get to play games and enjoy the end of the school year, 200 Halstead Ave., Harrison.

Children’s Writing Awards Ceremony: 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The Harrison Public Library will honor the winners of the Children’s Story Writing Contest with a ceremony at the library, 2 Bruce Ave., Harrison.

Board of Education Meeting: 8:15 p.m. The board of education will meet in the library of Louis M. Klein Middle School, 50 Union Ave., Harrison. 

Thursday, May 31

Spring Concert: 8:30 a.m., 7:15 p.m. Louis M. Klein Middle School sixth-graders will perform their annual spring concert. The first performance is for their peers while the night show is for their families, 50 Union Ave., Harrison.

Book Club: 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The West Harrison Library will hold a book club meeting for kids in K-2, 2 Madison St., West Harrison.

Swim Team Tryouts: 5 p.m. The Harrison Swim Team will hold tryouts at the Ron Belmont Pool in West Harrison, Passidomo Park, West Harrison. 

Friday, June 1

Law Day: Harrison High School will host Law Day where students compete in mock trials, 255 Union Ave., Harrison.

One Act Festival: Harrison High School will hold its One Act Festival where students will perform in various plays, 255 Union Ave., Harrison.
