HARRISON, N.Y. – The Harrison Town Board threw its support behind the building of a senior living facility on the former Lake Street Quarry site during a board meeting Thursday night, according to lohud.com.
Residents booed loudly and their anger was enough to force the board to temporarily leave the room, lohud.com reported.
The controversial vote was to approve a zoning amendment allowing senior living facilities to be built in residential areas, said lohud.com.
Brightview Senior Living is aiming to build a four-story facility on the quarry site, lohud.com said.
