Now Johnathan and Syl Gonzalez are putting their avocado pop-up market and catering business on wheels.

The Little Falls couple runs The Guac Spot out of a commercial kitchen in Hawthorne and brings their avocado specialties to foodie events in the tri-state area all year around.

They're unveiling their food truck at Six Flags Great Adventure's Food Truck Festival April 22-23.

"It's a little cliche, but we always wanted to start a business and be our own boss," Johnathan Gonzalez said of the business they started in 2015.

His wife is a great cook and always known for her guacamole, he said. They were both amazed at how versatile avocados are.

"We saw the avocado was a replacement for so many things and we starting experimenting."

It wasn't long before they had a full menu of avocado and guacamole menu items -- including desserts like cannoli and ice cream.

The duo quickly became known for their Candied Apple Roast Pork Tacos with Guac.

"It has a brown sugar rub. It’s the right balance of everything that makes it so great."
