GREENBURGH, N.Y. - Residents of the Greenburgh Central 7 School District voted 637-320 to approve the proposed 2013-14 school budget Tuesday.
The $61.5 million budget includes pay freezes for administrators and minimal raises for teachers. The new budget is up nearly $3 million from last year's $58.6 million budget.
“I am deeply appreciative that our overburdened taxpayers still saw fit to support this bare bones school budget,” said Ronald O. Ross, Superintendent, Greenburgh Central School District 7. “We must use the same foresight to petition our legislature to change the property tax as the major resource for funding public education.”
Two trustees, Lloyd Newland (679 votes) and David Warner (703), ran unopposed and were elected to three-year terms.
