ELMSFORD, N.Y. – A community forum has been scheduled in the search for a new Elmsford school superintendent.
Parents and community members are invited to give input on what they want to see in the new superintendent Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Alice E. Grady Library.
Officials have also posted a community survey on the district website to find out what residents are looking for in a new superintendent.
Elmsford Superintendent Barbara Peters announced in January that she was retiring at the end of the year after five years with the district.
In a letter to the community, Peters said that although it was not an easy decision to leave as superintendent, she believes "it is the right choice to make."
"I am leaving the district with an outstanding administrative team, an outstanding and effective teaching staff, sound academic plans for the future and a solid financial outlook, being one of the few districts in New York State that is debt free," Peters wrote.
