Mariachi Mexico, located at 405 Main St. in Armonk, will serve its final dinner on Sunday, March 23, owners Meto and Joana announced on Instagram on Sunday, March 2.
"The landlord has decided not to renew our lease, without providing a reason or previous notice," the owners wrote in their announcement, adding, "After extensive negotiations through our respective legal teams, we have reached an agreement. Last day of dinner service, Sunday March 23."
In their farewell message, the owners expressed deep gratitude to their customers, staff, and the Armonk community for their loyalty over the past three decades.
"Your loyalty and love for our restaurant have meant the world to us," the owners wrote.
"While this chapter is closing, we will cherish the memories and experiences we’ve shared," they continued.
Mariachi Mexico has been a staple of Armonk’s dining scene for over three decades, known for its authentic Mexican cuisine and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant’s upcoming closure has already sparked an outpouring of support from longtime customers saddened by the news.
"This is so not ok. Extremely upsetting news. Please tell me there’s a chance you can reopen in another spot," wrote one commenter on the closing announcement post.
"This is terrible news! Your restaurant is one of the very best! Our most favorite in Westchester," wrote another.
Those who stop by before the restaurant's last day can order from a menu featuring Mexican staples such as tacos, quesadillas, enchiladas, and burritos, as well as the eatery's house-made corn chips and guacamole.
