Officers from the Scarsdale Police Department were dispatched to a Butler Road home shortly before 4:15 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, where there was a report of a man “screaming outside the house, banging on the front door and trying to get into the house.”

According to police, the officers arrived at the scene and found Greenwich resident Richard Levy, 19, banging on the front door of the home and shouting.

Police said that Levy stated he took an Uber from New York City to Scarsdale to stay the night at a friend’s house, though he was unable to provide an address. He then stated that he was banging and screaming “because he was just trying to get into what he thought was his friend’s house.”

The homeowners said that they were woken up by Levy’s screaming, police said. The homeowners noted that Levy was walking in the front yard screaming, then walked back onto Butler Road, where he continued shouting. Levy then walked from the front yard into the backyard, still screaming, banging on and attempting to forcibly open door of the home.

The responding officers noted that Levy did not have permission to be on the property, and he was taken into custody.

Levy was arrested and cited for disorderly conduct and trespassing, both violations. After being processed, Levy was released and issued an appearance to appear in Scarsdale Village Justice Court on June 26 to answer to the charges.
