GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- As of Wednesday noon, only two roads remained closed, down from the 26 that Tropical Storm Irene wrought in Greenburgh, according to the police.
Saw Mill River Road, or Route 9A, remains closed in both directions from Dobbs Ferry to Worthington Road. A tree fell on and broke an electricity pole, which is still lying across Saw Mill River Road near the corner with Worthington.
Con Edison didnt provide an estimated time to fix the problem, police said. Silbert Gray, a Con Edison employee who was Tuesday afternoon at the site, said that the company sent him there just to make sure nobody gets close the down power line, and that he didnt know when the work will start.
The other road still closed, as per the police, is at 477 North Winding Rd. in Ardsley, near the intersection with Almena Avenue, where wires are down.
