GREENBURGH, N.Y. – The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday declined an appeal to overturn the conviction and death sentence of James E. Cooke Jr., who was convicted for the May 2005 rape and murder of Greenburgh native Lindsey Bonistall, Delaware Online reports.
Cooke was twice convicted and sentenced to death in the case involving the University of Delaware sophomore, but the first conviction was overturned due to a divided Delaware Supreme Court, according to the report.
