GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- In light of what is hoped is Old Man Winter’s last hurrah, the town of Greenburgh has declared a snow emergency for the overnight hours of Thursday, March 9, through Friday, March 10.
It may be sunny and breezy right now, but weather forecasters are predicting that several inches of snow will fall overnight in our region.
According to police Chief Chris McNerney, parking will be prohibited at all metered parking spaces on East Hartsdale Avenue and Columbia Avenue between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. Friday.
Limited parking will be available at the Webb Field parking lot on North Central Avenue.
Violators of the ordinance can be fined up to $500 and their cars towed away, McNerney said Thursday.
The emergency declaration does not, he added, affect existing snow ordinance provisions.
