Five people were busted during a raid of a fentanyl and heroin factory in Westchester early Friday.
The arrests took place around 10:30 a.m. Friday at a home on Euclid Avenue in Ardsley, said Drug Enforcement Administration spokeswoman Erin Mulvey.
According to Mulvey, the DEA’s Tactical Diversion Squad executed a search warrant at the home where five people were arrested and approximately five kilograms of fentanyl and six kilograms of heroin were seized.
"The fentanyl alone has the potency to kill nearly over two million people kilograms of fentanyl/heroin were seized, said DEA Special Agent in Charge Ray Donovan.
Those arrested included:
- Braulio Mata, 31, of 129 Euclid Ave. Ardsley, charged with conspiracy and possession of heroin and fentanyl
- Jose Garcia, 44, of 129 Euclid Ave Ardsley, charged with conspiracy and possession of heroin and fentanyl
- Ramon Aracena Alfe, 47, of 630 East Lincoln St Mt Vernon, charged with possession
- Dionell Duarte Hernandez, 32, of 562 West 193rd St New York, charged with possession and resisting arrest
- Yarly Mendoza-Delorbe, 20, of 129 Euclid Ave. Ardsley, charged with conspiracy and possession of heroin and fentanyl
The location was being used as a heroin/fentanyl mill and is actively being dismantled by law enforcement professionals, she added.
The DEA Tactical Diversion Squad and Greenburgh Task Force are currently at the location along with an ambulance for officer safety, the department said.
“Fentanyl is one of the deadliest threats on the streets today,” said Donovan.
Members of the squad include officers and agents from the DEA, Westchester County police, Orangetown police, Rockland County Sheriff's Office, Yonkers police, and the Putnam County Sheriff's Department.
